Value Creation v/s What's Hot?
Creating value for the readers of your content than simply adding the information to grab the eye-balls
It’s been more than a year of my last blog post. I start writing the blogs since most of the product professionals started talking about the product management related topics on the LinkedIn and they were humungous reactions from everyone with likes, comments and share.
The content generation has only exploded in the last few years, especially after Covid with people spending more time reading news/content and watching videos.
Last year at the same time, I was also learning more about the product and business topics and wanted to move officially from Engineering to the Business side of the things, it was a no-brainer to make some noise on the LinkedIn and other websites to grab the eye-balls of the recruiters and stand-out for getting the call.
The time now is different, I see the same content as noise now on the LinkedIn with everyone trying the be expert of the domain and posting something. This brought me a serious question on what do I bring to the table? The Most Genuine Information that I would want to share with the current and the future generations — which can add some value to their life. I think, I have got the answer to the same now, after searching for it for couple of months.
By no means, I am the expert at any topic or domain — technology, product, business, geo-politics, history, economics or philosophy. However, I do think that since I read basics about so many subjects - I am able to connect the dots really well and understand how one things leads to the other. This was the primary reason of naming my blog as ConnectingDots.
So, in the future blogs posts as well, the idea would never be to generate the content to grab the eye-balls - it would the learning that I had and how is it connected to the world we are living right now.
